Tan Care

How to prepare for your spray tan:

  • Shave, wax or laser hair removal 24-48 hours before service. No hair removal or showering less than 6-12 hours before your spray tan.
  • Exfoliate your entire body 24-48 hours before, focusing on drier areas like the elbows, décolleté, knees and ankles.
  • Wear loose, long-sleeve, dark clothing to your appointment. NO tight or restricting clothing (Ex: leggings, jeans, bra, tennis shoes, tight tops).
  • All beauty services MUST be done at least 24- 48 hours before. Your spray tan should be the LAST appointment before your event.
  • Have NO product on your skin the day of your appointment (Ex: lotion, perfume, deodorant, oils, spf).

How to take care of your spray tan:

  • Spray tan & chill! You'll want to avoid getting wet AT ALL while your spray tan develops and before your first rinse.
  • Rinse times for your desired shade: 2-4 hours (light tan), 4-6 hours (medium tan), 6-8 hours (dark tan) *most preferred*, up to 12 hours/overnight MAX (dark AF).
  • First rinse: lukewarm shower, NO soap, use your hands ONLY to thoroughly remove bronzer, pat dry with towel. You can have a normal shower 24 hours after your first rinse.
  • Wait 24 hours after your spray tan to resume normal activities.
  • Keep skin hydrated inside and out by drinking plenty of water starting a week before your spray tan. Moisturize skin 2x daily.
  • Avoid using Dove soap completely before and during the duration of your spray tan.
  • Continue to use non-arisol, sunless safe SPF to prevent sun damage (Ex: Sun Bum, COOLA, Alba Bontanica, etc.)
  • Use sunless safe products and avoid using harsh ingredients that contain parabens, BHA's, mineral oils and fragrances. Products to use: Sjolie, Aveeno, Hempz, Cetaphil, etc.
  • Try to avoid submerging in water for a long period of time including: pools, hot tubs, long hot showers and beaches. As this will cause your spray tan to exfoliate off faster.
